Julie Catherine Price
Julie is a botanical artist who trained initially at Plumpton College in Sussex. She was invited to exhibit at the Society of Botanical Artists' exhibition in 2000 and was awarded an RHS medal at the Royal Horticultural Society’s annual exhibition in London in 2004. Julie has also exhibited at Pashley Manor in Sussex.
In 2008, she commenced a course with the English Gardening School at Chelsea Physic Garden and in 2012 was awarded the prestigious Diploma in Botanical Watercolour Painting (with credit). In 2018, Julie was invited to join Amicus Botanicus, a society for the alumni of The Chelsea School of Botanical Art.
Although her work is mainly botanical, Julie has always been interested in all aspects of nature and takes inspiration from living in Cromarty, in the Highlands of Scotland. She uses her artistic skills to produce very detailed pictures of the flora and fauna around her, using watercolour to paint on both paper and vellum or pen and ink for a different style.
Julie is regularly exhibiting and giving talks both at her home and all around Scotland.
Julie undertakes teaching or workshops for groups and tuition for individuals. She is available for private or commercial commissions and can produce individual commercial logos, letterheads or add a personal touch to any printed medium with her illustrations.
